Today may be your best opportunity to buy a bull. Comes spring, many cowmen will be looking for a bull. Spring time, among other things, has a way of making the bull wheel screech louder. Demand will be stronger. Some bull buyers have already hibernated. Have you? i
Beginning at ten o'aock this morning the first fall R.O.P. bull sale will be held at Culpeper Enterprises. So what will be offered? To begin, with before entering the 140-day feed test each bull had a grade Choice or Fancy. Each had to have pre-weaning weight of 1.85 lbs. adjusted daily gain noncreep fed basis, or 1.95 lbs. if creep fed. To sell, each bull must maintain these two top grades and gain at least 2.05 pounds per day on feed and have a lifetime gain of 1.8 lbs. This is a pretty tough test they must pass. , Fifteen Angus and thirteen Hereford bulls • will selL Also Hereford and Angus bull and heifer calves.
Following the BCIA bull sale, the Virginia Hereford and Angus Association will sell bull and heifer calves. This too will be an opportunity to get some nice breeding stock of proven ability. All of the bull calves are registered; heifers include purebred and grades.
