The Amissville Firemen opened their four-night annual carnival last night with a brilliant display of fire works. Music from the merry-go-round and the aroma of hot coffee and hamburgers filled the air to confirm that it is again carnival time in Amissville.
Tonight a grand parade will be held, beginning at 7 p.m., with -floats, bands, marching units, fire and rescue squad equipment, and pretty girls.
The ladies of the auxiliary will have a plate supper on sale at the food stand immediately following the parade.
A queen will be crowned Friday evening at 10 pjn. from among these contestants: Nancy Lee Smith, Faye Burner, Terri Halle, Cheryl Martin, Marsha Berry, Kate Frazier, Martha Ann Settle, and Denise Carter.
Saturday night the grand prize, a 1962 Falcon, will be awarded along with a Welsh pony and

Rappahannock County • 4-H Club members had their annual picnic Wednesday at Schuler’s swimming pool near Luray. The group was accompanied by W. H. Lyne, County Agent, Miss Barbara Jones, Home Agent, Mrs. Ray T. Cannon and Mrs. Randolph Foster.
