In spite of stacks of mail , am glad to be back in the office after two weeks of field work.
4-H Camp was fun and we had a swell bunch of campers, however those youngsters can have your tongue hanging out and your back aching after you have passed the half century mark.
Danny Hitt, Tommy Williams, James Cannon and Carrol Sanders represented our 4-IH boys doing a good job.

Last week was spent weighing and grading calves in BCIA herds. Dick Ellis and I did 599 calves and several yearlings. Herds enrolled: Piedmont, The Oaks, Red Oak, Kilby, Gum Gap, Rock Cottage, Cannon, Laurel Hill, Flint Hill, Hidden Valley, Wakefield Manor and Orchard Hill.

221 heifers were vaccinated against Brucellosis (Bang’s Disease) on 29 farms under our July program. Next county-wide vaccination will be in November.
