Carl T. Stickels, airman recruit USN, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward H. Corner of Amissville, Va., is serving aboard the aircraft carrier USS Intrepid, which visited Quebec City, Canada, July 20.
The visit was made for recreational purposes. It came in the middle of anti-submarine warfare training exercises.
With other units of Task Group Alfa, the anti-submarine warfare support ship is involved in the training of Midshipmen from the Naval Academy at Anapolis, Md., and various Naval Reserve Officers’ Training Corps’ (NROTC) units from throughout the country.
The task group units will return to their homeports in August. The Intrepid is homeported -in Norfolk, Va.
