I Letter To The Editor

This is a copy of a letter sent to The Hunter’s Horn, a publication in Sands Springs, Oklahoma by a fellow' huntsman of Brown Smith.

August 4, 1962

Dear Editor, The death of Brown Smith of Viewtown, Virginia, which saddened my soul, somehow forces me to unload the memory of a man I shall never be ashamed to call my friend.

He was a self-made gentleman,! whose life was devoted to fox-| hunting and whose character as a sportsman and a gentleman has always stood high.

In all my hunting careef I have never hunted with a hunter who could rate a hound better or who could hold the confidence, affection and attention of his hounds the way Brown did.
