James Harrison Dies
After Being Shot
James Harrison of Washington, Va. died in Warren Memorial Hospital, Front Royal on Sunday, August 19. He had been a patient there since August 11 when he was shot by his son, Johnnie Harrison, also of Washington^ Johnnie shot his father with a shot gun when Mr. Harrison tried to prevent him from leaving home with the weapon. Rappahannock County Commonwealth’s Attorney, Gfeorge H. Davis, Jr. has requested an autopsy.
Johnnie Harrison was transferred Saturday, by Sheriff C. K. Estes, from the Rappahannock jail to the state institution ’for the criminally insane at Marion, Va., for observation.
