The Awards Banquet for parents, and 4-H members enrolled in the Sears Sow Project in Rappahannock and Warren Counties was held last Friday night at the iHy-Wy Restaurant in From Royal. Those from this county attending were Mr. and Mrs. John H. Powers and son, Clarence Jenkins,! Mrs. Carson Lillard and Tommy, I Mrs. Roland Welch and Bill, j Mrs. Barbara Gentry, Volunteer; 4-H leader and W. H. Lyne, County Agent.

Mrs. B. Miller, manager of Sears in Front Royal which sponsors the project in these counties, was host at the banquet which included steak and the trimmings.

Sears . Foundation of Atlanta awards $100 annually in supporting the project. Each year five registered gilts are placed with as many boys.. Their work is scored twice during the year, in the fall and again in the spring after the gilts have farrowed. Scored are based on care and management.

Competition among dub members is keen, frequently resulting in close scores.
