After reaching the barracks where we were to sleep, we were left to do as we wished.^Some went into town and others stayed on the fairgrounds. v-, . , ' July 30, 1963? - Today we again started oft our wa^. Our destination was Fort Riley, Kansas. We starred at about 5:30 a.m. At last we came to the Mississippi River which is the line between Illinois and Missouri. We stopped here and ate our breakfast. As soon as break* fast was over we went and looked around an, old riverboat, which is a scenic attraction on the Mississippi. Soon we started across the river to Hannibal, Mo., the home of Mark Twain. There we stopped and'vislted Twain's old home which has been made into a museum. There was a flower garden near the house which was beautiful. This museum is truly dedicated to one of America’s greatest writers. Farther on in Missouri we came upon the second of Americans two greatest rivers, the Missouri River.
