Receive Scoot Award
' On Sunday, September 29th, at 11 a.m. Edward Page Moffett of Scout Troop #64 will receive the Scout “God and County Award" at Trinity Episcopal Church, Washington, Va. This event will mark the fulfillment of a course of Christian study, worship, fellowship and service which is set forth in three stages, and normally requires a minimum of a year to fulfill. In filling this requirement, a Boy Scout, or Explorer Scout under 21 years of age, must gather general knowledge of the contents of the Bible, the Book of Common Prayer, and the Hymnal. He will have a working knowledge of the Church, the. sacraments,and the history of the Church. He will be acquainted with the organization and work of the Church in community, nation and world, and he will know from experience how to participate in the Faith, Worship and Work _of tjie. Church. A Scout may undertake work to fulfill these requirement schedules, under the guidance of his Scoutmaster and his minister with encouragement and assistance from his family When he feels ready he must appear before the Church committee for an examination interview accompanied by his counsellor. When they are satisfied with the Scout’s preparation, they will certify him. The^, Scout and his counsellor will then appear for an interview with the Church Awards Committee in the Scout District or Council Office. After their approval, he is ready to make his final application for this award. At the presentation 'Sunday! September 29th, the Churcfi eml sward- to Scout Page Motfett, the medal Which he will wear on his uniform, and a mlnature will be awarded to his mother in recognition of her support. All friends are invited to attend.

The Flint Hill Homemakers Club met with Mrs. Barbara Gentry on Tuesday, September 17th. Miss Harriet G oode. Home Demonstration Agent, gave the demonstration on Gift Making.
