Harvest Festival Prize Winners Announced
Prizes won at the Harvest Festival, sponsored by the SperryvUle Revelettes, last Wednesday and Thursday were as follows: Bedspread, Fred W. Jenkins, Sperryville; Walnut stool, Bud Corder, Flint Hill; Auto battery, Jack Jenkins, Washington and 5 silver dollars, George H. Davis, Jr. Washington. The Committee wishes to thank friends for donations of food, prizes, for serving in the booths and other means of co-operation.
Robert Jenkins Attacked By Vicious Dog
Robert C. Jenkins of Washington, Va. sustained a severely lacerated face and ear when he was attacked by a vicious dog Saturday at a public auction in Thurmont, Md. Without warning a Doberman Pinscher sprang upon Jenkins and ripped a gash in the left side of his face and ear which required seven stitches. Jenkins had transported a horse owned by Mrs. Oscar Lindgren to the sale and was discussing the transaction with the driver of the van belinging to the buyer, Mrs. Tony'Bowdene of Fleming, N. J As he walked away the dog which was fastened with a ten foot chain to the bumper of a truck attacked him. The owner said the dog had been trained as a watch dog and in the past had attacked others.
