A Luray woman, Mrs. Rosie Marie Willis, age 33, was fatally Injured in an automobile accident early Sunday morning, September 22, 1963 just north of Sperryville on Route 211, when the vehicle in; which she was a passenger overturned. Two other passengers and the driver were injured in the crash and two more passengers, unidentified women, were uninjuried. According to Trooper Paul Dicks, the operator of the vehicle, a 1954 Oldsmobile convertible, Winfield Garland Pkyton, Jr., 30, of Luray was parsing another vehicle heading west when he lost control of,1 his. car, veered across the highway and into the ditch on the right side. The auto overturned pinning Rosie Marie Willis beneath it. She was taken to Culpeper Memorial Hospital by Rappahannock Resells Squad where she was pronounced dead on arrival of « fbroken neck. She was the wle of George Willis and the mother of six children.
