advice for some of the present dispersed research on York spot, as I am informed that some work has been undertaken at. the University of Maryland, Pennsylvania State University, and Virginia Polytechnic Institute. “Somewhere in the general research facilities of the Department I should think a modest team effort could he put together which would result in worthwhile progress toward the control of this persistent problem, and I do hope some further consideration will be given to it.* In addition, Mr. Marsh called the problem to the attention of Chairman Jamie L. Whitten of the House Agriculture Appropriations Subcommittee, and expressed the hope that Whitten would be inclined to bring up the matter with Agriculture Department officials during current appropriations hearings, with a view to deter* mining whether or not some of the substantial allotment of research money could be used for work on York spot.
Mission Group To Meet
Miss Annie Cooksey will be program leader for the March meeting of the Womans Missionary Society of Washington Baptist Church. The group will meet at the church March 3rd at 2 p.m. The women will also observe a Week of Prayer from March 2 through the 6 and will meet each day at the church at 2 p. m.
