Jim thought of social security as something for older people like Jenkins, his neighbor who was drawing old-age, insurance benefits after 30 years of work as a machinist. Jim thought he could wait a bit before looking into his social security business. Jim changed his mind and decided to look into this “bust ness" after a speaker at the local farm association explained social security survivor benefits. It reminded him of his wife and small son.
