4-H Clubs Report Majorettes Sponsor
The Sperryville I 4-H club met February 17 with Hope Bailey presiding over the group. Barbara Durden called the roll and read the minutes of the previous meeting. Bonnie Sue Dodson led group singing after which members adjourned for project work. The girls had a demonstration on making salads and learned how to give a demonstration.
Washington III 4-H club met the 21st of February at Washington Elementary School under the direction of its president Carty Moffett. Devotions were led by Lizzie Eastham, followed by group singing. Room improvement is the project of this group and specifically studied was making a study area and what it should contain. Lighting of a study area was discussed as well as accessories, such as book ends, pen holders, etc., which could be made. . )

\ ' ^ Commercial beef cow herd owners are now offered a special BCIA Program which is Inexpensive, practical and yet effective. He must own scales and pay to the Virginia BCIA an annual membership fee of $ 10.0ft There is no other charge as weighing and grading are done by local personnel. This means records are unofficial yet just as useable and profitable to the owner as they are to the purebred cattlemen in so far as his herd culling and selection are concerned. Commercial breeders having; their 1964 calf crop identified, birth dates recorded and have identity of each calf’s sire and danv, are in position to take advantage of this program now. Complete details on the Commercial Breeders Program and membership application blanks are available at the county agents office.
Overnight guests Saturday of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Settle and their familv were Mrs. Rebecca Jenkins and son Douglas of Culpeper. Yancey Ford of Alexandria was a visitor Sunday of the Settles.
