Once again, I remind every citizen of the approaching Labor Day weekend, with its historic toll of highway deaths and injuries. History need not repeat itself this year. Over both Memorial Day and the f ourth of July, extra courtesy, caution, and common sense have reduced the holiday toll below the grim highway harvest of a normal summer weekend. So, please be careful over the coming holiday, and on every weekend, both in driving and in walking along our roadsides.
There are still far too many citizens and their loved ones whose holidays, and whose lives, both end in highway tragedy.
