Society Campaign

The C h i 1 d r e n’s Home Society’s fund raising campaign will be held in Rappahannock County September 8 through 30, Miss Mary M. Wood, the county chairman, announced today. Miss Wood announced that the sponsors of the drive are Mrs. W. A. Gentry, Mrs. C. B.. Johnson and Mrs. Mary A. Quaintance. “In the past the campaigns of the Children’s Home Society have usually been most successful* Miss Wood said ‘this year, however, the need will be greater and we hope that persons who have not given in former years will respond to this increasing need. Last year the Society received 167 babies and placed 148 in adoptive homes, - Miss Wood reported. At the end of seven months 1964 the Society was ahead of last year both in the number of babies received and the number of babies in adoptive homes."
