Yowell Found Guilty

On Four Counts

Jasper (Buster) Yowell, Jr. of Brandy Station was found guilty in United States District Court in Harrisonburg on October 19 on four counts relating to illegal manufacture of whiskey. Yowell was apprehended Sept. 14 near Viewtown at which time a still, mash and whiskey was found and destroyed. He was given five years on each of three counts and one year on one count making a total of 16 years. However, Judge Thomas Michie of Charlottesville who heard the cases, 'directed that time be served concurrently. He deferred imposition of sentence until April 1, 1965.
