When campaign oratory has been forgotten, the Nation, Virginia and this Congressional District will have to rely on the judgment of the people’s representatives in the Congress of the United States for hundreds of decisions affecting die economic strength of our country, the national defense and policies which will have impact on the well-being of citizens in every walk of life.
We are fortunate here in having representation of the highest integrity and proven sound judgment which does not follow unquestionly any partisan line but examines each issue on its individual merits. The basic philosophy of government of these men is recorded in their votes in the Congress — support of sound, frugal government with a minimum of federal interference in state, local and individual concerns; opposition to extension of die centralist “master plan” approach to community problems.
On November 3, we can insure maintenance of this steady, solid representation in die tradition of Virginia public service by making certain to mark the Congressional ballot for Senator Harry F. | Byrd and Representative John O. Marsh, Jr.
