Questionnaires for the 1964 Census of Agriculture have been mailed to farmers in Rappahannock County, according to Daniel K. Hite, Jr., crew leader in charge of the census in the county. The questionnaires should have reached the farmers. Visits to the farmers by enumerators named for different areas began Monday, November 16. An enumerator will call on every farmer in the district under his supervision. At the time of the call, the enumerator will help the farmer complete answers to any questions that prove difficult to understand and check the form for accuracy. Enumerators for Rappahannock County are:Jackson District, J. Richard Latham; Wakefield and Hampton Districts, Mrs. James R. Foster; Piedmont, Hawthorne and Stonewall Districts, Mrs. Betty L. Estes. The Census of Agriculture is taken every five years in the years ending with *4" and *9", to gather needed, up-todate information on the nation’s agricultural resources and production. Such information is essential in making decisions affecting many segments of the U. S. economy.
