Mrs. Nelson Burner of Amissville has received many requests for copies of her prune cake recipe, so she has sent it to share with you this week. 1 /2 cup butter 1 1/2 cup sugar 3 eggs beaten 1 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon baking soda 1 cup buttermilk 1 cup chopped walnuts 1 cup cooked prunes finely chopped 2 1/2 cups sifted all purpose flour 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg 1/2 teaspoon cloves 1 teaspoon cinnamon Cream butter and sugar, add beaten eggs and prunes. Mix and sift dry ingredients, add alternately with buttermilk. Stir in nuts. Spoon into oblong pan 9" x 12* or»f tube pan, which has been greased and lined With waxed paper. Bake at 350 degrees for 60 minutes. Sauce for cake to be added immediately when come from oven.
