Library Board Meets
The planning meeting of the Mppahannock Library Board was held at the Library on Friday night with representation from all sections of the county, and chairman, William Carrigan presiding. Mrs. George H. Davis, Jr. agreed to attend the annual conference of the Virginia Library Association at the Marriot Motel in Arlington Thursday, Friday and Saturday of this week as the library representative. Mrs. B. M. . Miller and Mrs. R. E. Patzig will attend for the day on Thursday and on Friday Mr. Carrigan and the Misses Josephine and Anna May Stambaugh expect to be present. Programs for the winter months were discussed and, committees were appointed to make arrangements for entei*talnment and exhibits of special Interest during the holidays. Announcements concerning these will be made in the near future. It was decided to consult George Hawkins about building the necessary book shelves in the north west corner of the Library to establish this as a special children's section; putting a floor and shelves in the balcony so it can be used as a rare book section, and putting in a badly needed power room.
