Bunting Place First in Decorating Contest
Christmas decorations in the Town of Washington were spectacular this year showing much originality and effort. Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Buntin’s spot-lighted door decorated by their daughter, Nancy,»feat uring an angel done in gold, silver, blue and green metallic paper on a red background, won first place in the judging Second went to Mr. and Mrs. Lester Burke who featured a topiary tree by ‘their door, and third prize went to Mr. and Mrs. Edward Bailey, jr. for a Santa Claus lighted by blinking lights. Mrs. Mary H. Lea was awarded honorable mention for her most effective use of a lighted icandle in each window of her (entire house both upstairs and down. Other doors creating in. teres used a f a m i 1 y Christinas tree, a clock denoting I “It's time for Christmas", jcandy canes, candles, wreaths :greens and Christmas lights. Credit was given by each of
jthe three top winners to the ■children of their household for giving much aid, assistlance and urging toward creat ling the winning effect. It was !also suggested that the pleasant weather contributed to jthe comfort of outdoor activity.
