The annual Christmas decorating contest sponsored by the Amissville Ruritan Club was a huge success with residents of the area using many varieties ofe lighting effects. The Methodist Church won i first prize with a most im- J pressive religious effect of lighting stained glass windows and using a wreath on each of the front doors, second was awarded to Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Priest fora most artistic arrangement of greens with blue lights and balls, beautifully spotlighted and featuring a topiary treo^Third place went to Mr. and Mrs. Francis Leonard for their attractive use of candles and lights featuring a reindeer. Honorable mention went to Mr. and'Mrs. E. G. Hackley for the spectacular manger scene on their front lawn. Others used traditional wreaths, greens,Santas and varied lighting effects, many using their picture windows as a showcase for a Christmas tree and candles.
