Patrons Ask To Keep Mail Boxes Accessible

Rural postal patrons are reminded that the postal manual states that after snow, roads should be cleared at the earliest opportunity to permit travel by rural carriers. Mail carriers are not required to make deliveries on uncleared roads or highways. Patrons are also reminded of their responsibility to keep approaches to their nwil boxOs cleared of obstructions, including snow. Carriers are not required to deliver mail If the approach to the box is not cleared. Mail may be withheld until approach is accessible, or the mail box may be temporarily re-located. The carrier is not expected to get out of his vehicle to make a delivery.

Arts & Craft Group Meets

Arts and Crafts Project held its monthly meeting January 1 at Cab-Inn in Sperryville. Mrs. Tom Pillar, Chairman, discussed some letters she had received concerning a market forjocally made handicraft. Some requests from Craft Shops have come in for various items and the Committee wishes to locate women who would like to make things far sale. This activity of the Committee is done as a public service only and they do not serve as brokers in any sense of the word. If you wish to earn a small supplementary income from a handicraft, please call Mrs. Tom Pillar in Sperryville for more information.
