Dr. Henry Lankford Dunton, one of the top choices for the Rappahannock Extension School being planned for Wednesday nights in February has been clinched as a sure fire speaker!
Brass in the educational world refer to him as doctor, but to farmers and county agents he is simply called “Lank". All respect him. He might make others in the educational world, that is ir the field of Agronomy, squirm because of his intelligence and up-to-the minuteness, farmers however, are completely at ease in his audience. He speaks their language and is fully aware of their problems. A native Virginian, “Lank” got his BS at V.P.I.; Masters and Doctorate at Michigan Stat'e. In college he was active in Phi Kappa Phi, Sigma Psi, Phi Sigma. He has been head of the V.P.I. Agronomy Department since 1947. He will be in Rappahannock February 10th and will speak on "Alfalfa - Does it Pay - What About Substitutes”. Farmers - Watch for future announcements about this school VIA the news - WCVA and a circular letter which will include an enrollment card.
