A series of Farmer Schools is being-planned for each Wednesday night in February by our Advisory Board and your County Agent. Mark these nights on your calendar and keep them open. You’ll want to be in on every one.
Plans call for each class to be repeated each night to allow everyone an opportunity to hear each speaker. Programs will start at 7 p.m. with a 45 minute discussion and 10-15 minute question and answer period. New Trends in Beef Cattle P r o d u c tion. Crossbreeding, Disease Control and Prevention, are a few of the topics suggested for the classes on Beef Cattle. Substitutes for Alfalfa, Weed Control, Optimum Levels Corn Fertilization are among those planned for the Agronomy classes. George Litton and H. L. (Lank) Dunton; Heads of the Animal Science and Agronomy Departments respectively have already accepted. Also topics in the area of Farm Management were suggested: “Lowering Feeder Calf Production Costs”, “Calculating True Interest Rates’, etc. Watch this column for further developments.
