Four of the 35 Chinese art treasures coming May 1 to Rappahannock County in the Virginia Museum’s Artmobile are being shown for the first time in Virginia. One is a 1,200-year-old Chinese jar; two are painted scrolls dating from the 12th century, and the fourth is a delicate fan painting signed by the artist who painted it in 1625. The Museum acquired them recently and placed them on view for the first time in the Artmobile’s Statewide tour Jade ornaments, painted scrolls and a bronze bell will be among the other objects on display.
