children of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lee Barfield of Berryville spent three days last week as the guests of their grandmother Mrs. Hazel Barfield and aunt Miss Alice Hitt. Mr. and Mrs. Barfield were called to Lignum by the death of Mrs. Barfield’s grandfather the Rev. Edward Davis.

Mr. and Mrs. Gid Jenkins, Mrs. Fred Jenkins, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Jenkins of Slate Mills and Mr. and Mrs. John Jenkins of Boston attended the funeral on Sunday of their aunt Mrs. Della Jenkins of Culpeper. Carroll Quaintance of Alexandria was a Sunday guest of Mrs. R. W. Quaintance and Miss Elsie Ramsey.

-Suftday guests of the Rev. W. B. Dennis were his sons and daughter and their families; Mr. and Mrs. Warren E. Dennis of Falls Church, Mr. and Mrs. Vernon D. Henderson of Fredericksburg and Mr. and Mrs. Richard C. Dennis of Culpeper. Mr. and Mrs. George Baber, son-in-law and daughter of Mrs. Iris Brooke are in Denver, Colorado. Mr. Baberwas sent there for a three months assignment by the Computer Program Project. They made the trip from their home in Lanham, Md. March 27 by plane with their son Brooke Baber.

Mrs. Lanell Wilbur and daughter Norma Lee and Mrs. Iris Brooke have recently recovered from the flu. Mrs. Rosa Brown whose funeral was held in Etlan last Friday was a frequent visitor in this community several years ago when she visited the C. S. Fender family at Slate Mills.
