Amissville Fire Company answered an alarm to the Elwood Deane property Friday night where an outbuilding was on fire. The fire was extinguished with minor damage resulting. Monday night they answered a call to a field fire at Elzie Compton’s place on the Hazel River. Tuesday afternoon they answered a call to a field fire on the F. A. Holmes property, formerly the Cropp place and that night they responded to a field and woods fire at Jefferjsonton. Amissville Rescue Squad was called Friday night to the scene of a traffic accident on Route 211 and took a victim to Fauquier Hospital, Warrenton. Tuesday' the squad took Raymond Groves, Jr. from Amissville Graded School to Fauquier Hospital after he had been struck in the head with a baseball bat. Flint Hill Rescue Squad answered a call to a wreck at Massie’s Corner on Saturday night. No hospital trip necessary. The Fire Dept, reported to a flue fire Sunday at the home of Nancy Jones. Rappahannock Rescue Squad also reported to the wreck near Massie’s Corner Saturday night, but was not needed. Lucy Roberts was taken from Dr. Snead’s office on Monday to the University of Virginia Hospital in Charlottesville.
