Mrs. Ella Clark Dennis

Mrs. Ella Clark Dennis of Wahington, Virginia died Friday. March 18, 1966 at the home of her daughter Mrs. Lilly Gates Timbers. She was the widow'of John W. Dennis and daughter of the late Thomas and Catherine Clark, born in Washington, Virginia January 23, 1879. She was the mother of 17 children, 7 of whom survive. In addition to Mrs; Timbers she is survived by five daughters and a son; Mrs. Millie Fletcher of Luray, Mrs. Mary Ellen Pratt of Alexandria, Mrs Lajonna Pope of New York City, Mrs. Jessie Fletcher of Washington, Mrs. Rachel Beckwith of Philadelphia and William McKinley Dennis of Washington and a step-son, John W. Dennis of Washington, D. C. Also 21 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren, 4 nieces and a nephew.

A funeral service was held on Sunday at the First Baptist Church conducted by Elder Charles Rucker of Madison with burial in the Washington Cemetery. Pallbearers were grandsons McKinley Dennis, Aaron Fletcher, Robert Beckwith, McKinley Fletcher, Nathah Fletcher and Cleveland Dennis
