Rannie Cleveland Fincham of Washington, Va. is in critical condition in the University of 1 Virginia Hospital, Charlotte svi lie with gunshot wounds sustained Sunday night Charged with the felonious shooting of Fincham is Carl Smoot, also of Washington. He has been released from Rappahannock County jail on $10,000 bond. The shooting occurred around 9 p.m. in front of Merrill Motor Company in Washington. The victim was struck in the head by a bullet fired from a 22 Magnum rifle. He was taken to Warren Memorial Hospital, Front Royal by Rappahannock Rescue Squad then transferred to the University hospital where he underwent seven hours of surgery.

Calves originating at Rappahannock Angus Breeders 1965 feeder calf sale were declared grand champions, carload class, at the 1966 Fat Cattle show held in conjunction with the Ohio State Fair! According to Martin F. Stratq Executive Secretary Virginia Beef Cattlemen’s Association this fat cattle show “was better than average” as if evidenced by there being six entries in the car-load class. Included in the show were cat tie originating in the states of Colorado, Montana, Ohio and Virginia. Rappahannock Angus breeders’ 1966 sale will be held October 18th at Front Royal Livestock Market beginning promptly at 2:00 p.m.
