Chapter Publication
For the second time In three years Mrs. Barbara S. Gentry Flint Hill, editor of The Virginia Postmaster has been awarded a certificate of hono» able mention as one of the top ten chapter publications in the nation. Rudolph Yeatman of M e r k 1 e Press, Washington, D.C. presented the awards at a breakfast honoring chapter editors at Louisville, Kentucky Tuesday, September 27, at the national convention of the National Association of Postmasters. A panel of professional journalists judged the publications submitted by editors of the fifty state chapters of the organization. A fact sheet was given the editors so that they would know the points on which the papers were judged. The Virginia Postmaster was pointed out as “an excellent example of nameplate simplicity and directness." Mrs. Gentry has been editor of the Virginia chapter publication for four years and will resign from the position November 1. The citation reads, “Certificate of recognition, hnorable mention awarded to Barbara S. Gentry as editor of The Virginia Postmaster for excellence in editorial achievement by The National Association of Postmasters of the United States." It is signed by James O’Toole, national president, Alfred C. Huffer, chairman of editorial board and Rudolph H. Yeatman of Merkle Press board of judges. The Virginia Postmaster has a circulation of 1200 and is sent to chapter editors and officers throughout the country as well as all postmasters in Virginia.

The home is owned by Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Lindgren and is located two and a half miles from Washington, Va. To the accompaniment of orchestra music and tea, those attending will view what’s new in fashion for the country life. Among the models will be two! of Rappahannock’s outstanding I women riders, Mrs. Wade H. Massie and Mrs. Philip Irwin.
