October is the American Red Cross Fund Campaign month. Your support was never more needed than now. Last year, spread over the different services, 15% more people were benefitted. There are ever increasing demands for its services due to the Vietnamese war, disasters and the constant need of blood. Postponed to 22-23rd
The two day show scheduled for October 1 and 2 at Rhoda Lea Farm has been postponed to October 22 and 23 due to rain. The hunter show will beheld on Saturday October 2 2 beginning at 10 a. m. and the Western on Sunday October 23 beginning at 1 p. m. This is an open show and the Veterans of Foreign Wars welcome exhibitors and spectators. , A list of classes may be obtained from Mrs. Lawrence L. Brown, Stevensburg, Va. Phone 825-3589.
Farmers Should Certify ASCS Ballot-Envelopes
Farmers were reminded today of a very important part of the election process for Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation (ASC) community committeemen, especially where ballots were mailed in to the ASCS County Office. In Rappahannock County, the deadline for returning ballots in the community elections is October 13, 1966. H. S. Barksdale, Chairman, ASC County Committee, points out that two envelopes have been mailed with the ballots sent to all eligible voters of record in the county office. One envelope will be plain, and the other will have a statement printed on the back which the farmer needs to sign. A witnessed mark will also qualify as a sicnature.
