Sets Training Course

The Fauquier Mental Health Association is sponsoring a two-day training course on “After Care" for patients returning from mental institutions. This course is offered free of charge to anyone interested in this training. It will be held October 10 artd 11 at the Airlie Centre about six miles from Warrenton. Monday hours from 10 to 12 ! noon, 1 to 3 p.m. and 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Tuesday hours will be from 10 to 12 and 1 to 3 p.m. Luncheon will be served each day for $1.25 per person. Leading the two-day program will be Dr. Neil Hoffman, a native of South Africa and a graduate of medicine from the University of Leiden, The Netherlands. His undergraduate work was done at the University of Pretoria in South Africa. Dr. Hoffman has been a resident physician in obstetrics and gynecology at the Crawford W. Long Hospital of Emory University in Atlanta, Ga. All interested persons are cordially invited to attend the training course October lOand 11.

Sperryville 4-H Holds First Meeting of Year

The Sperryville Elementary fifth grade had their first 4-H Club meeting on September 20. We first elected the officers: President, Mary Moore Ritby; Vice-President, Vickie Hutt; Secretary, Judy Atkins; Song Leader, Virginia Jeffries; Reporter, Angela Maria Dennis. The girls are taking “Clothing and the boys are taking “Forestry". The girls have Miss Diane Brown as their teacher and the boys have Mr. William H. Lyne. There are 23 fifth grade 4-H members.
