Auto Old Timers
Tom Frost of Warrenton was elected president of the Automotive Old Timers, Inc. for the fourth term when this group met at the St. Francis Hotel, San Francisco, Calif, on January 29. Over 600 members were present for the 28th annual luncheon, coming from 39 states, the District of Columbia, Canada and Puerto Rico. Mr. Frost, welcomed those in attendance and reported 1966 as a year of growth, with 329 new members bringing the membership to more than 230Q Three new councils were organized: Southwest Michigan Area Council, New York City Metropolitan Area Council, and the Connecticut Council; |making a total of eighteen | active AOT councils. The organization is now represented in all fifty states, the District ;of Columbia, Canada, Argentina, Australia, the British West Indies, Puerto Rico, and West Germany. Mr. Ed Kossman, President of the National Automobile Dealers Association, was on hand to accept the' Golden Jubilee Award presented by AOT “in recognition of N ADA’s fifty years of unceasing effort toward improving the franchised dealers position in the automotive industry."
Among the highlights of the luncheon was the presentation of lapel pins to members with fifty years or more in the automotive industry. The Gold en Old Timers represented over three thousand, five hundred years of service in keeping America “a-wheel".
