The Social Security Amendments of 1965 include several provisions especially for women,
and it’s important for women to know _what they mean. Besides health insurance for
the aged, there are many major changes in the old-age, survivors, and disability insurance program. Of these
changes, three affect women directly, and the others all
have a “woman’s angle." The three provisions that
apply most directly to women are; payment of reduced bene
fits to widows as early as the
