Spring is here and perhaps many thoughts have turned to planting new annuals in the flower garden. We have ordered copies of the VPI publication, “Landscape Notes*-March edition which some of you might be interest ed in. The leaflet lists the All America Selection for 1967 as well as other new annuals and gives descriptions of these If interested call the office and we’ll be glad to send a copy out when they arrive.
*********** For the past several months I’ve been listing food plentifuls and you’ve seen pretty much of the same things all winter. Well, April is coming and spring seems to bring changes in the food supply picture. For April the outlook, according to the USD A, of plentiful food items are eggs, beef, fish fil lets and steaks, peanuts and peanut products, oranges and orange products and grapefruit.
Came across this receipt for Apple Pie Cake that I thought sounded real good and that I’d like to share with you;
Apple Pie Cake 3 cups flour 3 tablespoons sugar 3 teaspoons baking powder 1/4 teaspoon salt 1 cup lard or shortening 3 eggs beaten 2 tablespoons milk
