Samuel B. Settle

Samuel B. Settle of Parkersburg, West Virginia died in the Camden-Clark Memorial Hos pital there on Wednesday, March 22, 1967. He was a native of Rappahannock County the son of the late George W. and Minnie Beckham Settle of Flint Hill, and was 66 years old. Mr. Settle was a graduate of Virginia Military Institute, class of 1922. He was a 21 year employee of the Parkersburg Rig and Reel Co. and for the past seven years had been an employee of the West Virginia State Road Commission. He was a member of St. Andrew's Methodist Church; a membex of Mt. Olivet Lodge #3, A.F. and A.M.; a member of the Rotary Club, the American Society of Civil Engineers, and was past patron of the Parkersburg Chapter 14, OES He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Vanita Elliott Settle; three daughters, Mrs. James R. Edwards of Waynesville, N. C., Mrs. Charles E. Thomp son of Huntington, W. Va. and Mrs. Dewayne Lowther, Morgantown, W. Va.; and seven grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, George W. Settle, Richmond, and Thomas H. Settle, Orlando, Florida; three sisters, Miss Kate Walker, Washington, Va.,Mrs. Carol S. Frank, Luray, and Mrs.. Julia S. Eastham of Shadyside, Md. A funeral service was held Saturday from the Vaughan Funeral Home with the Rev. Samuel A. Hartford and the Rev. Dewayne Lowther offi—j dating. Interment was in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Parkersburg.

Jessie Boddie of Washington Va. died March 6, 1967 in Bremenhaven, Germany. He is survived by his wife Mrs. Julie Boddie and a daughter Linda Boddie of Washing-1 ton, Va., and three sisters of Baltimore, Md. A funeral service will beheld at the Morton & Dodd; Funeral Home, 1701 Laurence St., Baltimore, Md., Sunday April 2 at 2:30 p.m., conducted by the Rev. K. A. Coleman, pastor of First Baptist Church Washington, Va. Family and friends will assemble at the home of Mr. Boddie’s sister Mrs. Isabel Telfair, 1809 W. Edmondston! Avenue, Baltimore.
