New Homes: Virginia buyers came back into the picture strong as was suspected due to the better feed situation. This was not true, however, in several Northern Virginia sales. The Rappahannock Angus sale had 10 Virginia buyers who purchased 390 head to lead buyers from all other states. Other states: Pennsylvania 381 head, Ohio, 298 head, Mary land, 108 head. Also, calves went into Indiana and North Carolina.

Buyers: Of the thirty different buyers 12 were repeat customers. One man bought for the fifth time and this year his son also bought calves. These men bought 45% of all cattle sold. Old Methods: The sale seldom has split pens in selling to buyers, rather they have allowed buyers an opportunity to make-up their loads by offering some large and some small pens (number of head) of the same weight, grade and sex.
