hunting out of season combined, our next two greater violations.

The law is, of course, in two parts. The first saying, that to hunt on posted property, written permission is necessary. The second says that to hunt on unposted property oral permission is required. The law does not specify that posted signs need be placed in any particular place or places, or as to wording, sizej or color. This should prove j to be no drawback to the conscientious sportsman who abides by the basic law that! no one shall hunt on any private land without permission. Upon contacting the landowner it can be quickly established whether or not all or any of his land is posted. We often hear the lament these days that “there is no place to hunt; everything is posted.” This is not an effort of landowners to abolish all hunting. The landowner in most cases merely wants his property and property boundaries recognized. He wants hrS rightful privilege of deciding who may or may not hunt and when, where and what is being hunted. The law and common sense tells°us the landowner has this right. It is up to the sportsman to prove his worth; to gain the trust and be welcomed by the owner.
