For sure all consignors should thank those faithful who helped at the market on delivery day. Their pay is small, risk large, and believe you me hours are long and hard. Change in Grading: Heretofore “rejects" included stags (marked with an X on back) calves grading below Medium. This year some calves were graded as “compacts* and marked with an 0 or circle on their backs. Briefly a “compact* calf, as the word implies is one short of leg, lacking in stretch of body, an early maturing type, the kind expected to stop, or practically stop growing at 700-750 pounds liveweight.
