An early morning fire Mon day destroyed a tenant house at Jessamine Mill Farm near Washington and the occupants, two families, lost all of their personal effects. Living in the house was Mr. and Mrs. James B. Foster and their three children and Mr. and Mrs. James I.. Foster and two small children.
The elder Mr. Foster return ed from the barn after milking to find the house full of smoke and in flames. The families made a hurried exit with only the clothes which they wore. A washing machine was the only piece of furniture saved.
The families are now staying with relatives, Mr. and Mrs. Archie Clatterbuck in Amissville. Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Atkins. Sperryville and Mr. and Mrs. Garfield Burke, Huntly.
