the votes to only 25 write-ins cast for Lawrence. No other county officials had opposition.
Lt. Col. Norman Wilbur was elected to the Board of Supervisors from Hawthorne District on a write-in ballot. Mr. Wilbur had filed a petition but had failed to file a certificate of candidacy in July to make him eligible to have his name on the ballot. However, he had no opposition and fills the posi tion vacated by A. H. Buckner who declined to run after serving in that seat for many years. -

Justices of the Peace returned to office were Carson John son in Piedmont District with 132 votes. Robert F. Estes received 28 votes and Wilson Burke received 11. Mrs. Sarah Latham was given 117 votes in Jackson District and E. G. Hackley and Paul Poling each received one. Mrs. Janie Burke in Hampton District took 131 ballots. Mrs. Bertha Williams received 90 votes at the Chester Gap precinct in Wakefield District ano Mrs. Charlotte Nichols received 22 In Flint Hill, both write-ins.
