Mr. Thornhill Attends
Regional Conference ,
Gordon Thornhill, assistant manager of the Rappahannock Farmers’ Cooperative, Sperryville, has just returned from a Southern States Cooperative regional merchandising conference held at the John Marshall Hotel, Richmond' on January 9, 10 and 11. The conference, one of seven such meetings held throughout the cooperative’s fivestate operating territory, was held for training and informing Southern States' Agency personnel about product and service programs so they could give maximum service to local farmers this spring. The theme of the meeting was “Stay in Front.” Featured at the conference; were programs on feed, fert-l ilizer'’ seed, petroleum andj farm supplies. In addition pro-j duct schools were held on tires, batteries and accessories, agricultural chemicals,! water systems, chain saws! and feed. Cooperative leaders stressed that farmers and farming should enjoy a good year in 1968. Agriculture will continue to be the nation's biggest and most basic industry with! unlimited opportunities ahead.!
