To guard against the danger of a grease fire, on or in a stove, it’s a good idea to keep a plentiful supply of baking soda on hand. Burning grease will not be extinguished by throwing water on it, says the American Insurance Association. The best remedy, after first turning off the heat, is to throw [baking soda on the burning grease. Another recommend- | ed method is to place a large, flat cover over the pan, using i a long handled fork to set itj in place.
