Wildlife Essay Deadline Extended
The deadline for the 21st Annual Wildlife Essay Contest has been extended to January 31 because school closings due to inclement weather prevented many schools from meeting the original January 13 closing date, according to Contest Coordinator S. O. Newman. “A record number oi schools have entered this year’s contest and we would hate tp see so many of these students denied a chance tc have their efforts recognized due to circumstances beyond their control," Newman said.
Schools are urged to submit th§ir essays as soon as practical since the extension of the closing date will be an extra burden on Judges to meet their deadlines. The contest Is sponsored jointly by the Virgina Commission of Game and Inland Fisheries and the Virginia Division of the Izaak Walton League.
