Amissville Horseshow
All classes of the Horse Show Saturday In Amissville were completed in spite of drizzle and showers which started before noon. Entries were good, too, in spite of the weather which did keep some participants and speo tators away and sent others home early. Champion of the English Horse Division was Mrs. John Hopewell with her horse Stand i ing Ovation. She was awarded 4 the silver trophy. The Reserve Champion horse was Mexican Brass owned by V. M. Johnson and ridden by James Magee, both of Amissville. Champion pony was Show Business ridden by Leslie Klotz and Ann Baumgardner with her Rockburn Kings Daughter was reserve champion. In western competition the champion of working events was Ace Chard ridden by Jackie Neighbors. Reserve champion in this group was Strait Shot Star owned and ridden by Tommy Fletcher. In timed events, the champ ion western horse was Shy; Lass ridden by Betsy Harrison and the reserve champion was Rhapsody ridden by Betsy Harrison also. For an initial undertaking, the Amissville Ruritan Club, felt the show was well received and the club hopes to make this an annual event. Allen Cooper, show chairman, expressed great appreciation to all entries, spectators, sponsors, and all who assisted with the show.
