With the season tialf over, Aylor holds a hefty .421 average, putting him among the league leaders, lames Jackson is second batting .235. The Panthers dropped both their outings this past week, Friday night 13-2 to Page County, and Tuesday evening !()-(> t<> Warren County. Both were away contests. Wayne Deal, the Rappahannock starter, took tiie loss, while John Grimsley went the route for Page County to pick up the win. Aylor accounted for both Panther runs with a two run homer in the fourth after Stewart Henry reached on an error by the second baseman. James Grigsby had the only other Panther hit. In one of their best games of the season Tuesday night, the Warren County Wildcats staged a three run rally in the fifth inning to overtake the Pant tiers who had iiung on to a b-5 lead since the third inning. Warren County added two insurance runs in the sixth. The Panthers took a 1-0 lead in the first when Jackson tripled off the right field wall and scored when Aylor reached on an error. Warren County took a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the first, but the Panthers stormed back with rive runs on singles by Aylor Hid Maury Nichols, a double to Wayne Deal, a walk and three wildcat errors. After that the ’anthers never threatened. F loyd Grigsby went the route or Rappahannock and was tag. ted with the loss, while Frank ieekford got the win in relief.
