1 Rappahannock In grand “fashlion’1 on April 20th as she placed 3rd in the 4-H Style Dress Revue held in Madison County. Amy’s beige dress featuring detailed handstitching cost her approximately $6 to make. In addition to her blue ribbon, Amy received as her prizes the privilege to attend i State 4-H Clul^ongress held 'at V.P.I. in June and also a gift certificate for 3 yards of
[fabric from Leggett's. As a participant in the Girls | Public Speaking Contest, Susan Dodson received a 2nd place red ribbon on her talk entitled “The Internation Farm Youth Exchange." Rappahannock also had a third contestant - Deb Barron, who gave a demonstration on “Correct Placement of Trees and Shrubs on Home Grounds." This was Deborah’s first year as a district contestant and did very well for her self and also for the county. We all offer our congratuli tions to these girls for doing such a fine lob.
A reminder to the members of our Home Demonstration Clubs of the District meeting to be held on May 9th in Culpeper. Registration, at the Baptist Church, will begin at 9:30 a.m. with the program to begin at 10 a.m. The program is entitled “Know Thyself" and should be most interesting to those in attendance.
