Shirley A. Williams, a senior at Rappahannock County High School, was a special mention award winner in the 21st Annual Wildlife Essay Contest sponsored by the Virginia Commission of Game and Inland Fisheries and the Virginia Division of the Isaac Walton League, She was one of but fourteen winners statewide in the 12th grade competition. An award of merit and a check for $5.00 was presented her Friday by Rappahannock Game Warden, Irvin L. Kenyon, Jr. The subject of the essay was "Water Pollution." Shirley is the 18 year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Williams of Chester Gap.
